Bandoneon Resonances:
Exploring Contemporary Soundscapes
Bandoneon Resonances is Mercedes Krapovickas’ doctoral artistic research project at the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki.
Across performances, installations, and collaborative works, the research explores listening as an active, bodily practice and sound as a field of relations between performer, instrument, and environment. Through multichannel systems, live electronics, and the development of an augmented bandoneon, the project opens new sonic and physical possibilities for the instrument in contemporary contexts.
